Are you over 15? Yes.
Current Characters: Chihiro Fujisaki (
superhacker)
C H A R A C T E R I N F O
Character Name: Lilly Satou
Series: Katawa Shoujo
Age/Gender: 18, cis female.
Canon Point: Lilly's route, post neutral ending.
History: Here!
Personality: If you met her for the first time, she would certainly not give off the vibe of a blind person. Her movements being graceful and elegant like those of a noble lady, her manner of speech is gentle and sophisticated, even more outstanding for a girl of her age, and she's a real definition of an educated lady. Of course, her grace is fruit from years of training herself into doing chores that would be difficult for a blind person, and her education comes from being the daughter of a wealthy family, but that's only the surface of her personality.
Lilly is, above all, an empathetic kind of person. She's helpful, patient, and offers a lot of kindness to strangers, classmates, and friends alike; she even confesses that she would love to become an English teacher, also because she likes to help people improve themselves. During her route, and especially Hanako's, we see Lilly taking care of shy and anxious Hanako like a mother over her daughter, taking it upon herself to help her friend overcome her troubles while keeping their friendship steady, and it's no wonder Hanako has a very high level of trust for her. Motherly is, indeed, another way to define Lilly, in both positive and negative sense. She starts worrying about Hisao's health after a while of knowing him, and learning of his heart issues. This comes out very often during their interactions, to the point where Hisao tells her that she worries about him too much, after which she replies that it's just normal to worry about those around you. This might not be negative, but it's a key point for Hanako's bad ending. Because Lilly is that much caring over her friends, without control, her actions would become suffocating to the point where she makes them feel uncomfortable and not worthy. If Hisao follows that same train of thought, we encounter Hanako's bad ending, in which the girl expresses all her hatred towards Lilly for being pitied like she wasn't a human being anymore, but some useless thing that constantly needed to be taken care of. Naturally, this was never Lilly's intention, rather the contrary, but this is the result of her and Hisao's overprotective demeanor.
Her sense of responsibility is outstanding, and while she might meet bumps along the way, she manages to finish her tasks successfully, which gain her very good grades and a spot as the class representative. Confidence is another part of her, as the protagonist noticed it after a while, from the way she moves physically without hesitation even though she can see nothing around her. She rarely ever thinks whatever she's doing is wrong, but if she does, she'll make sure that she apologizes and tries to make amends immediately; she wishes that people were honest with her about whatever problems she may have caused, so that she can find ways to fix them. However, hers is not the strongest kind of confidence, and it can crack under a lot of pressure. This can be noticed as we delve deeper into her route, and especially after she and Hisao become a couple. Days afterwards, Lilly becomes distant without an apparent reason, and it comes to a point where she loses her patience and has a brief outburst, the first and only time we ever see her genuinely angry. When Lilly's family story is revealed, we learn that the rest of her family left for Scotland when she was only six, and expressively forced Lilly and her sister Akira to stay in Japan, allegedly to let them continue their lives there, but as Akira herself suggested, it might be the fact that Lilly was blind that made their parents very much reluctant to associate themselves with her. Now that they want her back in Scotland, that would mean she and Hisao would have to experience a forced separation, which would lead to a break-up. Even so, she struggles with her desire to reunite with her family, the forgiveness she feels towards them, and her love towards Hisao, and all that affected her confidence, which caused the aforementioned outburst.
Like a few bits of the paragraphs above may have suggested, Lilly is not a flawless saint. Other traits of faulty behavior can be found during her interactions with Shizune, a fellow schoolmate and actually her cousin, with which she often gets into passive-aggressive verbal scuffles over school duties. This is where we see the "nasty" side of her, which is mostly related to her being exasperated by Shizune's annoying behavior. However, Shizune herself is not exempt from Lilly's affections, as it's shown the last day of school, helping with the Student Council one last time before she leaves for Scotland. Even if there was a grudge harboring between them, they're still family in the end.
Lilly is not demure or reluctant about flirting. She's not exactly malicious, but she's very open minded, and tends to tease people in a friendly manner when she's comfortable enough with them, while still being able to keep her grace.
Special Abilities: Lilly doesn't have any supernatural ability. She's a normal human with handicap that will be removed once she sets in the afterlife anyway.
How did your character die? Plane crash. In the neutral ending in her route, she's going to leave Japan permanently to reside in her family's country, Scotland. This didn't happen in canon, but during the trip, something goes wrong and the plane she's in with her sister falls into the mountains and kills her instantly.

Lilly ever rarely showed her emotional side in front of anyone. If there was one time where she cried in front of someone, it was when she confessed her love to the boy she loved. Never in her life she thought that this day would have come. The day in which she could see her own hands and feet, as she woke up in a bedroom foreign to her.
Since when she was born, Lilly's world was darkness. Shapes she couldn't determine, if not with her own hands. She could never see herself in a mirror, only feel her own face with her fingertips, feel the face of other people, even if she could only identify them through quirky details that she couldn't sense in anyone else. Bumpy nose, large forehead, exposed cheekbones, and similars. Seeing a real human face wasn't a thing she was allowed to do... until today. She's soon standing before the mirror of the bathroom annexed to the bedroom. That long, blonde hair, and the blue eyes she's seeing, she had no idea they belonged to her. It was... she couldn't describe it at all. If a miracle happened just as she felt the seat below her shake inside that plane, heard the screams of panic all around her, and then felt her sister's arms wrap around her, and that tender voice telling her that she loved her... before everything was over.
Lilly ever rarely cried in front of anyone. This time, she was going to let the tears flow from her now cured eyes, at herself, in front of a mirror.
